First, simply notice your breath... the natural rhythm of life within you... the gentle rise and fall... no need to change it... just be aware of its flow... Now, gently deepen your breath... take a slow, easy inhale through your nose... and a longer, softer exhale through your mouth... letting go a little more with each out-breath... and pause... in the stillness between breaths... Inhale slowly... exhale fully... and pause... This breath is a gift of renewal... Place a hand gently on your belly... breathe deeply into your hand... feel your abdomen rise with the inhale... and soften completely with the exhale... With each breath, you are making space... creating room for peace... Now, let the breath expand into your chest... feel your ribcage gently widen... and then soften... release... As your heart center softens, you might recall the words, *"Be still, and know that I am God."*... Let this stillness be your anchor tonight... Bring your awareness to your shoulders and neck... areas that often carry the weight of the week... On your next exhale, invite a wave of softening to flow through them... let your shoulders drop away from your ears... allow any tightness in your neck to dissolve... releasing the need to carry anything more today... From this place of release... let that softening travel slowly down through your body... your arms and hands becoming heavy and relaxed... your spine settling... your hips and legs softening... all the way down to your feet... feeling the support beneath you... letting your entire body be held... and fully at rest... Rest here in this deep stillness... in the quiet sanctuary of this moment... having honored this day of rest... your mind calm... your body soft... your spirit at peace... When you are ready, begin to gently deepen your breath once more... wiggle your fingers and toes... and slowly bring your awareness back to the room... carrying this sense of sacred peace with you into your night's rest...
