Let your body settle into a comfortable position... allowing the chair or bed to fully support you... releasing any need to hold yourself up... Begin by simply noticing your breath... as it is... the natural rhythm of inhale... and exhale... no need to change it... just observe... Now, gently deepen the breath... a slow, steady inhale through the nose... and a longer, releasing exhale through the mouth... letting go of the day... and after the exhale... a brief pause... a moment of stillness... before the next breath returns on its own... Place a hand gently on your belly... feel it rise with your next inhale... and fall with your exhale... breathing into this space of calm... releasing the busy energy of Saturday... a day of activity and perhaps completion... let that energy settle now... Let the breath expand into your chest... feel your ribs widen... and then soften completely on the exhale... releasing any tightness held here... any residue of the week's demands... Bring your awareness to your shoulders and neck... areas that often carry our burdens... with your next exhale, imagine them softening... melting... like warm, heavy sand slipping away... "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."... Allow this softening to travel down... through your arms and hands... your spine and back... your hips and legs... all the way to your feet... a wave of release moving slowly downward... leaving heaviness and calm in its wake... Settle into this deep stillness... your body soft, your breath gentle... resting in this quiet space between the week that was and the rest to come... When you are ready, gently bring your awareness back to the room... carrying this sense of peace with you into your evening and sleep...
