On this Good Friday morning, I come in quiet reverence to adore the Cross, the instrument of our salvation. I stand in awe before the ultimate sacrifice of love made there for me. My heart is filled with sorrow for my sins, the very sins that made this holy sacrifice necessary. Forgive me, Lord, for the times I have turned away from such a costly love. Grant me the grace, I pray, to unite my own small sufferings and sorrows with Yours on the Cross. May they be joined to Your perfect offering. I lift up to You the needs of the whole world, for which You died. Have mercy on all who suffer, all who are lost, and draw every heart to Your redeeming love. Even in this darkness, I cling to Your promise: “For he has not despised or scorned the suffering of the afflicted one; he has not hidden his face from him but has listened to his cry for help.” (Psalm 22:24) In Jesus Name Amen.
