On this most solemn Good Friday morning, I come in quiet reverence to adore the Cross, the holy instrument of our salvation. I stand in awe before the depth of Your love, O God. My heart is heavy with sorrow for my sins, the very sins that made this perfect sacrifice necessary. Forgive me, Lord. Grant me the grace, I pray, to unite my own small sufferings and sorrows with the infinite suffering of Christ on the Cross. May I carry my own cross with patience and trust in Your redemptive plan. I lift up to You the whole world for which Your Son died. Have mercy on all who suffer, all who are lost, and bring the light of this redemption to every heart. In my sorrow, I cling to Your promise: “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” Yet, You are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel. In You alone is our hope. In Jesus Name Amen.
