On your next inhale, breathe deep into your abdomen... Feel your hands rise with the breath... And as you exhale, feel them softly fall... Letting your belly be soft... Releasing any effort... any holding... Now, let the breath flow into your chest... Feel your ribcage expand gently to the sides on the inhale... And soften completely on the exhale... Opening the heart space... Releasing any tightness gathered here from the day’s tasks... Bring your awareness to your shoulders and neck... Carrying the weight of Tuesday’s responsibilities... On your next exhale, invite a wave of softening to flow over them... Letting the shoulders drop away from the ears... Allowing the neck to be long and supported... Releasing the need to hold anything up... or carry anything forward... Let this softening now travel slowly down through your body... Softening the arms... and the hands... Softening the back... and the abdomen... Softening the hips... and the legs... All the way down to the soles of the feet... Releasing the entire body into the support below... Heavy... and at ease... Rest here in this deep stillness... The activity of the day is complete... *"In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength."* Let this quiet trust fill you now... Whenever you are ready... Begin to gently deepen your breath once more... Wiggling your fingers and toes... Bringing gentle movement back to the body... Carrying this peace with you into the rest of your evening... and into sleep... When you are ready, you may slowly open your eyes.
