**Evening Prayer for When Addiction Feels Overwhelming**

God, tonight I come to You feeling completely overwhelmed. The weight of this struggle feels too heavy, and the cycle of addiction has left me exhausted and disheartened.

Yet, even here, I find a small grace to thank You for: the simple fact that this day is ending. Thank You for the mercy that each sunset brings, for the closing of a chapter, and for Your faithfulness that did not abandon me in the fight, even when I stumbled.

Your word meets me in this overwhelm, saying: *“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”* (Matthew 11:28, NIV). I am weary. I am burdened. So I come.

Right now, I release it all into Your hands. I let go of today’s battles, the shame of missteps, the fear of tomorrow’s cravings, and this crushing feeling of being overwhelmed. I surrender the entire struggle—the addiction, the triggers, and my own weakness—to You.

Please restore my soul. Quiet the storm of thoughts and cravings in my mind. Heal the parts of me that feel broken and seek escape. Grant me a deep, restoring sleep that mends my body and spirit.

Tonight, I choose to trust not in my own strength, but in Yours. I entrust this night, my recovery, and my very self to Your vigilant care. I relinquish control and accept Your rest.

May Your peace, which transcends my understanding, guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Watch over me as I sleep. In the name of the Father who holds me, the Son who understands my weariness, and the Spirit who brings comfort, Amen.
